SLPLO Challenges Police Board Decision |
The St. Louis Police Leadership Organization (SLPLO) has filed an amendment to its original lawsuit in St. Louis City Circuit Court against the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners. The amendment seeks recognition for twenty-two (22) sergeants recently excluded from a collective bargaining unit by the Commissioners due to the “confidential” nature of their assignments.

Business Manager says POA is more suited to explore pension reform |
Attached is a letter from the Police Officer's Association (POA) Business Manager, Jeff Roorda, indicating that the POA wants more involvement in pension legislation and reserves the right to exercise "our political influence with the General Assembly for the purpose of advancing the interests of our membership." Since the Police Retirement System (PRS) represents EVERY commissioned and retired member of the Police Department and the POA does not, it's interesting to see that they (along with the mayor) want....

On February 15, 2012, the St. Louis Police Leadership Organization (SLPLO) solicited the Law Offices of Rick Barry, P.C., one of the most recognized Labor Attorneys in the area. Rick Barry sent a letter to the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners requesting the SLPLO be recognized as the potential bargaining agent for Commissioned Police Officers holding the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major and Lt.
